The San Joaquin Valley
Our Growing Concerns

A look at the many proposals underway to plan the future development of the San Joaquin Valley through the various growth models. These models all take into account the current natural resources and habitats unique to the various regions of the Valley and how these pieces drive decisions for future growth. The program will also focus on the movement of commodities and people throughout the Valley, looking at the heavy travel impact on Highway 99, as well as travel on Interstate 5. In addition there would be a look at the proposed models for the creation of roadway corridors connecting the West side of the Valley with the East. This would include potential impact on development and agriculture. Additionally, attention would be paid to the potential future for light and high-speed rail through the Valley.
